Have noticed recently that when i alarm my car, the central locking button thingy inside also starts to flash. Does this signify anything suspicious, or is it just a dodgy electric connection?

I don't think it indicates a problem, mine flashes like crazy. The handbook says it's supposed to flash slowly and any different indicates a problem but on searching here most seem to flash quickly with no side effets.
Cheers

Can only concur with David - flashes when alarmed and no harm done. Yet.

Greg, I heard a rumour they start flashing fast right ahead of a major bill.

Seriously, mine started doing that, lasted a couple of months, then returned to normal all by itself?

When the alarm is activated then the light will flash fairly fast after the doors have been locked (when the button won't open them) or the light will stop on if you press it while you are in the car and ignition on or driving and this indicates that the button on the wing mirrors is now disconnected and nobody from the outside can then just jump in at say a set of tracfic lights, but you can still get out by pressing the button on the inside of the door.

i've been having a problem with mine where it will start flashing for no reason (and put the windoes up at the saems time) which is fine when i'm in it as I can push the button from the inside but I've has a couple of accasions where I've been locked out and had to use the secret entry - a bit of a nightmare but its off to Dream Machines tomorrow (hopefully!) to get sorted out. will let you know what they say
