slippy roads !!!!

Anyone else out there, thinking the roads this year are a lot more slippery than usual. I've noticed here in yorkshire that even when it's not even freezing there seems to be a smearing of ice accross the roads in certain lights, & I've been experiencing a lot more rear end action than usual. I was lucky to get the cerbera back home in one piece the other week after a drive out on some country roads with a friend in a corvette. Seems Cerbie & Alinton weren't so lucky, sorry to hear & see the pics of your damaged cerbs, at least your both OK & still walking.
I was talking with someone today whos heard they're mixing this years salt / grit with a type of vegatable oil / fatty substance to make it stick to the road, apperently it's being kept hush hush as its causing a fair few accidents.
Seems to be a few cerberas going off for little reason recently, anyone else heard of this or had experience of this?

I would agree that I have never found a cerb in winter (when 4 or 5 degrees above fozen) such a problem as this yr ! Seems that I cant go above 3k in 1st or 2nd. I can in 3rd so long as I dont gun it at that point. Back has stepped out quite a few times. Drove out of Reading the other night (last Wed?) and found it to be one of those drives where I was wishing i wasnt in the Cerb. Luckily the next morning I was in my old 5 series as I hit a really icey patch that would probably have ben a lot hairier in the cerb.
