Having a power weight argument with a Z06 which claims it can out accelerate any Cerb.

Julian
according to the TVR spec sheet they state a 4.2/4.5 weighs 1100kg (2425lbs) (SP6 is an extra 30kg)

1160kg = 2552lbs (Possibly TVR figure?)

1260kg = 2772lbs (more realistic)

1200kg's = 2645lb's

The quoted wight of the Cerbera is 1100kg's but this along with the bhp is slightly over-optimistic!
1200kg's has been mentioned by a few as being the true wet weight.

Think I may have posted last week, but...met a guy with a brand new Z06 when I crashed a Jag Owners meet at a pub in Surrey the other weekend. Damned fine looking beast...505bhp...0-60 in 3.7 secs...he was having it chipped to 560bhp coz it wasnt quick enough. Didnt look like it weighed more than a fag packet

Julian, the Z06 I refered to is the new model? The guy reckoned that his was the 2nd in the country but the 1st on the road (other one is owned by a millyonaire and it hasnt moved from his garage). Defo said it was 3.7 0-60

Have to say that I think with all the success that the 'vette has had at Le Mans, etc, it is hard to imagine them NOT moving in to this kind of bracket...

But can you get a Z06 for under £20K, put the kids in the back etc...

Good bar room banter......

My Cerb has done a 12.3 1/4 mile at 119mph and that was with 390bhp, it has a few more now so may be a little quicker......

I bet he can't manage a 12.2 in the Z06, better still invite him down to Santa Pod and let him have a run against my Cerb...should be close....

Is that an estimate or a real weight figure?? Have you done anything to it to make it lighter?

A bit of TVR history for you here's an old thread on it www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?p=2&f=&t=47368&h=0 yes it was a bit of a special . Shame the factory don't knock cars like that together again, its great instant PR .

Saying that I think you might find that Peter Humphries (greenV8S) V8S won't be a million miles away in performance terms .
