I've been using it exclusively since my local Tesco garage started selling the stuff. Definately bangs and flames more too.

Can also claim clubcard points

You're right it does! Never really thought about it before but there is a dual carriageway as you come out the local Tesco forecourt and WOW it's sounds good as I lift after after giving it some!

Reckon I'll try it again, filled up with 3/4 tank of it a few months back and it seemed really flat compared to the 95 I'd had in before - so perhaps a duff batch...

Certainly no excitement on the noise front, but I find 95 does it best for mine

95! I only ever use 95 when I am on fumes and there is nothing else about.

I've tested back to back and the only major difference was a lacking of urge at 120+, otherwise the different between insanely powerful and no-quote-as-insanely-powerful isn't something I've spotted so far.

For hard hooning and track work, it has to be Optimax though

Mine pinks like a tt if I use 95, I think my car has high compression. Something to do with GT on the ECU????

Dunno.

I can switch mine to the 95 octane mapping, so although it runs at a higher compression than a standard 4.5 (I beleive) it copes with the lower octane by advancing the ignition I presume.

Wouldn't you want to regard the ignition rather than advance it if you're using lower octane fuel?

i've a red rose, but don't have the 97/95 button, is this something you can fit after? the amount of times i've had to fill up with 95, in desperate attmpt to find 99 or optimax.

It was standard on factory fits (like mine), to the left of the stereo, and I've seen upgraded cars have them in the dash recess near the alarm override/bypass thingy.

Don't know whether they can be retro fitted though, I'd guess so, as I presume its a simple on-off switch to the ECU and all the clever stuff happens in there.
