Hi Guys,
I've just ordered a new 4.2 and now have the dilemma of choosing the Audio/Sat Nav unit. Anyone got any recommendations ? Bearing in mind that the car is left at the station car park I'd prefer someting with face- off or stealth function !

I have a Clarion sat nav in my Griff. It motors away after use and then the face comes off. Built in CD, touch screen etc etc. Oh it also gives 1/4 mile top ten and highest speeds and averages. Maybe not a huge selling point but interesting. On my car for the best accuracy i dont use the speedo pulse as it doesnt work below 8mph!! Simple to fit a seperate sender. Email me if you are interested in more info.

I'm Intrigued as to why you went for a 4.2 instead of a 4.5? Was it to do with the £'s?
Did you test drive the 3 engines before placing your order? and if so, how did you find they compared and what made you choose the 4.2 in the end?

Darren has had the light kit for his Cerbera, did you not see his "glowing" report?
Sat nav: the system uses many satalites but for pin point accuracy it needs to have a speedo pulse. In a Griff the speedo doesnt register until 8mph which means if you crawl in traffic the direction to "turn in 50 metres" could be missed as the system thinks its not moving, it is so accurate that it counts in feet. In my Rangie its 3mph and any of the converters that are available, do not work below 2.5mph. But i have a natty system that works at 1ft an hour!

Several reasons I went fo the 4.2.
Main one was my love of the 1997 4.2 that I sold back in 2000!
I drove a few 4.5's when i had it & I prefered my 4.2. Spoke to the dealer & they preferred 4.2 as well (may have been sales pitch, but I was gonna buy one of 'em!)

Last but not least,I found the 4.2 more than adequate on the road & that's where I spend most of my time !!

I love my satnav system - Alpine IVAM700R with the NVE-N055PV route guidance thingy.
