Water in rear footwell behind driver's seat

I've been told that I need some new door seals, which I ordered off my Indy back in December.

Anyhoo, the engines been out recently & the car's back. It's been parked facing up hill for the last two days of rain, and it doesn't appear to have let any water in.

It's had a new throttle cable & has no doubt had all the bulkhead holes sealed up.

But is it possible that a hole in the bulkhead would have let water in to the back of the car, without the front carpet getting wet ?

I've got my suspicions that it may have come through the channel where the emergency door pull is & entered the car at the back, by the seat belt mounting.

Can i ask how much you paid for the door seals?

Dean, I've had them on order since December & they havn't arrived, so I havn't a clue how much they cost.

The leak seems to have fixed itself, so I'm presuming when the engine went back in. they must have sealed a hole or three.

Well, anything's possible with these things, but I doubt it.

I noticed the other day that when I was washing it (with the door open, to do the sills) there was a small amount of water seeping through the seal into the rear footwell. This doesn't happen under normal use, though.

I'd suspect that your seals (unless they are obviously worn) have moved slightly and the leak has been closed. Might still be worth investigating further. (Faults which are fixed when one has done nothing normally come back when one does the same thing, ime).
