Wife says the Cerbera should go,but i cant do it.
Discussion
Ive had my Cerbera for just under a year.In that time its had its fair share of niggly faults, but none to serious(touch wood).Ive replaced the diff bushes £150,Had a rebuilt rad fitted at £200,replaced the wiper spindle boxs at £30 from a jag breakers and replaced a faulty indicator micro switch at £1.50 from maplins. Not bad for a car that in my mind sits firmly in the super car league. The problem is the wife is getting fed up with its quirky ways and tempremental attitude and thinks its about time i sold it on.Not only that she doesnt really like the car.She says 1.Its to noisy.(its had a full de-cat and sports exhaust plus race cams)2.Its to uncomfortable.(Its fitted with adjustable suspension)And 3.It attracts far to much attention when its driven along the road.(the car is in purple reflex with 18 inch spiders and window tints)She said ive had my fun with the car its not reliable and that i should spend more time with her and the kids. But what she dont under stand is this is the car that i only ever wanted, since when i first saw clarkson test drive one on Top Gear back in 95 and then again later in the drag race for his unleashed on cars video. The wife thinks theres no one else as mad as me but ive told her there are plenty like me.So for all its little faults i cant part with it even if it will cost me an arm and a leg in keeping it on the road, but what i dont want to do is loose my wife over it.

They will never understand. Two choices: - Accept it or change it.

My missus has hated the car since September 03 & I've had the "why don't you get rid of it" comment on a weekly basis ever since. When I get a big bill, I sometimes have an hour's worth.
I don't tell her which make up to wear & like wise I don't listen to her choice of car for me.
The "why don't you get something more practical" comment, is normally answered by "we've got a transit van at work, how much more practical do you want ?"
Don't let her grind you down, treat it as a challenge, either that or buy yourself a skirt & give her all your old trousers

Are we all married to the same woman?
My wife wants me to sell mine and her arguments stack up, expensive to run, noisy, can't fit the kids in no longer etc..... So last Summer, I relented and put the car up for sale, however it was priced at £2k more than everyone elses. I put the ad on PH to show her I was serious, but it's timed out now and dissappeared. I just havn't had a chance to do the advert again.
I have a car that's up for sale, that no one knows about and is over priced.
It's not my fault if no one wants to buy it.

My wife loved my old Cerbera - the problem was getting her out of the driving seat
Had to resort to parking it in the very small garage as with her back problem she then couldn't get in until I'd backed it out!
He who has the keys first wins! Unfortunately she finally persuaded me to sell it and buy a Tuscan S!

Ask her how she managed to pick you out of the pile she had on offer in the first place.
And suggest that the part of you that does daft things was part of the man she fell in love with, and you wouldn't want to change that.

FFS guys. Who is wearing the trousers in your households? (I'm assuming you have another car to cart your families around in, so there is always something comfy for family trips/the wife to drive etc. and you're not making the wife walk).
Tell them you will sell the car if they sell their handbags and shoes. They only need one handbag and a couple of pairs of shoes after all - some shoes are uncomfy and noisy, not suitable for going out with the family and are very conspicuous ...
This is all assuming your kids aren't starving due to car rebuild costs

eBay wife, keep car!
In all seriousness - my girlfriend hates mine, same reasons, but she knows it’s a huge passion of mine. Although I try and keep the amount of work I do to it quiet, otherwise I get the usual rant over the phone "bloody car".
She did have an amusing comment about valentines, asking whether I had bought 'it' a card and flowers... "No I replied, just an ACT induction it", “what’s that then” – “nothing really I said smoothes out the power”. “Oh...is that good?”
Look into my eyes, look into my eyes, the eyes, the eyes, not around the eyes, don't look around my eyes, look into my eyes, you're under.
Keep the car sell the misses!

Wife hated my last one, the bills were very very big. I sold it and then moped around for a yr (in a horrible Impreza P1). I kept on posting, I kept reading mags, I kept talking TVRs etc..... EVENTUALLY my wife said 'why dont you buy another one'.
Albeit we did agree that when we sell our house and move to a bigger one (maybe this yr!?!) then the car would need to go.

I actually part ex'd my wife's car without her knowing for the Cerbera. So, she hated it from the off. She loves it now and drives it more regularly than me.
Luckily, our neighbours 2 year old Audi A6 was brought back on a low-loader the other day. Gearbox completely trashed. I pointed at it and said, "Look, even German cars break down sometimes."
She knew from Day 1 that I had a quirky taste in cars. 1994 when I met her and I owned a 1969 Vitesse Mk1 that needed the AA calling 3 times in one 70 mile journey. The TVR is a dream compared to that!

I have had mine for 4 months now...and my other half still hasn't actually been out in it.
Granted, she has followed me...then asked what "all the silly bangs were coming out the exhaust"
She has also sat in the drivers seat and told me "its like looking through a letterbox"
Its reffered to as 'The Heap" or "The shed" if she is in a real mood.
I don't think women will ever see sense in such things...
Maybe they have a point, but what are we here for if we don't enjoy life?
(any women reading this...yes i know, that was selfish and i should think of others too, the general path is
