When I start the Trevomatic I am unable to use the wipers & squirter, full beam headlights and indicators until the car has been driving along for about 15 minutes. Then Ping! they suddenly start working.

The fuses are OK, and anyway, they all pretty much run off different circuits, and the hazards & mirrors work. No probs with mirrors.

Anyone got any bright ideas????

Damp somewhere? They all do that sir? (It didn't used to.)

I am lost for ideas...

Ta muchly.

Edited to say that this is fine when it is day time and not raining, but a bit of a bu66er if it is dark and lashing down...

Does the hazard button bring them to life?
Is the aircon reliable for that 15 mins?

Have you replaced the ribbon cable?

No, the hazards don't induce the others to work.

The ribbon cables are fine

I never use the aircon!!!!

I would hazard a guesss that moisture is getting into a connection (probably the block that goes onto the wiper motor in the engine bay). The heat from the engine is then drying it out sufficiently to then start working.

Its easy enough to get to. Mine was so loose that the wipers stopped working completely. All I could hear was a quiet clicking noise when I pressed the button.

It would be nice if TVR could have sorted them in the first place

Actually. Thinking about it, mine used to pump screen wash out even though the wipers didn't move. Maybe its not the connector.

As for the other bits and bobs, I haven't had the pleasure of messing with ribbon cables yet so I'm not the best person to comment.

I reported this problem a couple of weeks ago and had the same problem today having left it out for two nights - normally in the garage.

On mine no indicators, flasher or wipers - cure - engine running - turn off and then open door (whilst still inside) close door - plip alarm - wait for alarm to arm - then unplip (is that a word ?) alarm open door - close door and then restart engine hey presto problem gone !

Must be damp as I only notice this as I said when left outside - strange - would be good to know where to start so I can spray WD40 all over it - sorry I can't be of any further help, but at least my workaround gets over the problem quicker than waiting for it to dry out.

Cheers TVRWhao. I'll give that bash.

Mine is always garaged, so it can't be sitting out in the rain that is the problem for me. But it has to be damp somewhere that tales X amount of time to dry out.

I'll let you know what happens!

Cheers all!
