Good price on Falken FK451

Just a heads up really, apparently the FK451 is just about to be superceded by the FK452, and as a consequence there seems to be some very good prices available for FK451.

I have just paid £270.00 inc delivery for:

2 x 245/45/16 @ £65.67 each
2 x 225/45/16 @ £59.15 each

Ordered them through www.falkentyres.co.uk if anyone's interested.

Good prices .

Bit worried as to whether the 452's will be any good. Plus they don't do 245/45/16 in the 452's yet.

Might be an idea to buy up some 451's now .

TT Tim thanks for the post, just ordered some 255/35/18's - checked a few other sites and they're all over 100+ mark. also checked ebay, but by the time you add carriage which was more (eBay) it turned out to be cheaper through those guys!

I might flog my front SO3's on ebay as they are pretty new and get some matching fronts. Great tyre and great price.

Most usefull thread I've seen to date on PH, checked my tyres today- the SO3's on the rear are nearing borderline (probably why the backend is so loose!) the fronts are Toyo's and appear fairly new, how do these rate with you guys?
Anyway these Falkens seem a good deal & I've heard nothing but praise for them, hence I've just ordered a set.

2x 255/35/18
Delivered for well under £400, not bad.

a spare set of spiders - when i need to refurb the others i put those on whilst they're being done, or just in-case i prang them i'm looking for a nice 'alloy' coloured set too - i've one of them so far, so i can change the look from time to time.
might be why i'm skint at the moment.

I had a note saying that they tried to deliver mine so I won't get my hands on them until Friday.

It was only 6 weeks ago that I paid £180 for two rears. Bit gutted now but its always the way.

I know its an old thread, but just got my new rear rubber, what a bargain at 65 quid each for 245/45ZR16s!

Quite amuseing as had them delivered to my office, guy from the warehouse wheeled them to my desk on a sack barrow, few puzzled frowns from some of my fellow IT department spods.

Got the fronts on mine and managed about 250 miles over the weekend. Haven't had one tram-lining incident yet and even played with the lorry ruts on the M1.

When the guy was taking the SO3's off the front, he had a nightmare levering the tyre over the rim. His comments were that the sidewall on the SO3 is extremely stiff. I'm no tyre expert but I'm wondering of the softer side-walls make a more forgiving tyre. The Falkens have a bit of a curve to them, had a look at some proxies and they were similar, the SO3's look like straight.

Hi All

Just had a phone call from london tvr and my rear so3,s are on the line so I would be interested to know if anyone has drove the thier cerb hard with the falkens on without any problems of the back going plus would they work with so3,s on the front has mine are quite knew.

Thats exactly the set-up I had until last week. Mines a 4.2 and rear end grip in the lower gears under hard acceleration is much better. Didn't have any major probs with the front SO3's apart from a tendency to pull or tram line but then I don't push the front on the road especially in these conditions. You could buy a full set of 451's for the price of two SO3's.

ordered should here tomorrow, picking up cerb early saturday morning from london tvr just had chasis waxoyled, nitrons at the front refurbed and an mot, so I have not drove since early december lets hope the roads are not too slippy at the weekend.
