I recently had the misfortune to split my screen, Insurance said no problem. Extra 300 Driver recomended a place local to me (they remembered you BTW) and sounded like they new what they were talking about so again no problem.
They called me today to say they could only get a heated screen, TVR said no plain screens available, the car was out of production and they wouldn't be supplying anymore.
I called around a few dealers and got the same story, no screens anywhere, one told me that the manufacturer of the screens based in Finland could'nt give them any idea when they might supply some either.
So I'll go for the heated screen but what happens when that limited supply dries up? what do we do then?
Come on TVR it doesn't look good.

Is there not a law about this sort of thing? I am sure part must be on the shelf for 5 or 10 years after production.

They are a good bunch, I think I delt with Martin???

Tis 10 years.

Not sure on details though, eg you might have to wait a while for the bits.

Don't panic - Yet!!

A couple of guys in the scimitar club have just had some scimitar screens(heated) made in Japan. I'm sure if they can make them for a car a long time out of production, they could soon sort a cerb one if needed. They only needed a pattern to copy for the new ones. Obviously, it must be possible to order them without the heated bit (there was never an original heated option at the time of production).

In the meantime, I'm sure someone will get a simpler solution as there's quite a few cerbs out there.

Cheers

Rob
