My drivers door has stopped opening properly. When I press the button the window drops and works fine and the lock mechanism makes opperational noise but the door won't open. I have to reach in to lower the window and pop it with the pullhandle. It doesn't work when I try to work it with the door open either.
I have tried to lubricate it from the outside but to no avail. Its as if its sticking or lost its grunt so I'm guessing that there is a solenoid that has gone weak which I will need to replace. Any ideas on what it is and the best way to get to it?
Thanks,
Neil

The link between the actuator and the door release mechanism has detached/broken . Take the trim panel off , if there is no connection between the actuator and door release , a wire coathanger will suffice .
This is the bit that went out of rig on my car, small adjustment on my car and been fine since
I've had a solenoid fail, accessed via the panel to the rear of the door. Really easy to fix and the solenoids are cheap aswell.

Thanks.
The car is currently near Norwich (in shop being painted at mo) but I'm down by Southampton.
I noticed there is a small round bit in the locking catch that does rotate when the button is pressed. I'll take the panel off and check the link then, armed with a coat hanger
For that price might as well change the solenoid as well being I will have it all open.
Thanks once again for the great help from all on PH and sorry for keep putting up posts with boring problems
