Well, after Dean was brave and lit his dash with LED's i did the same, just thought i would post the effects to show anyone interested that it really is well worth doing, the difference is amazing, and a lot safer too - you can see the speedo and everything!!!!

Here is the original cluster, pretty dismal all in all:

The new View

And the fuel gauge :

New Blue

and just the top cluster:

Thanks Dean for all the information, i am really pleased with the results... If ever i make it to one of the events , i owe you a !

Ah well, now, that looks great, but I have a bit of a numpty story to tell about this!

I too was very impressed by Dean's efforts and bought the relevant items to fit myself. I haven't completed the exercise yet, but I HAVE noticed that you guys have white or at least pale dials...

...I, of course, have dials matching my car - BLACK! Doh!

Guess, I'll just have to see what they look like anyway!

...go easy on me, folks!

Not a kit, but all obtained from www.ultraleds.co.uk

look for wide angle 6 versions with BA9 base and wedge base; basically to replace existing bulbs...

I needed three wedge and three bayonet.

www.ultraleds.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=44&products_id=811&osCsid=340092577eea16b3cce4cb3022cd0ded

I did my sidelights with ultrabright white LED's too - look quote good. BA9 base again. All in all cost about £40.

looks excellent..... I've been unsure whether to do this or not but after seeing your pics, I have too now!!

I think I'm gonna try White LEDs though, just to get a crisper white to the dials.

There is a slight buleish tinge with the white LED's too - my sidelights look slightly blue. Will be a lot softer than my blue though...

That does look good but look at the amount of fuel you used just doing it!

I'm hoping to check this at the weekend, and would be happy to pass them over if they're crap! I'm not holding my breath on that either...

...one day I'll grow a brain.

Thought i would post the original pics of when i first posted; i'm glad the idea took off and now seeing others try it out (nice pics rob!). Plus remember you're not stuck to blue, there's other colours plus the original white.
First remove the dash:

Removal of instruments:

Umm, as usual variation on bulb connections, typical TVR:

Bayonet and wedge connections:

We have light: I opted out for the high intensity thinking they were going to be too bright:

Put back together again, here’s the result: camera settings make is 'bluer than normal'

From front:

I’ve left a 'normal bulb' in so you have reference to the old style.

All the bulbs have the resistors built in.
and for the bulbs, as robert has said some people have different configs.

I've taken the plunge and ordered 3 of each. It says on the website if they are wrong, just return them and they will exchange/refund.

Anyone know what the window switches would require (actual part number) ?

There's two nuts either side - have a look at Dean's first photo further up. To be honest, I've never done it, but apparently it's straight forward if you can lie on your back in the footwell!

Heard too that when refitting, repalce the six sided nuts with wing nuts for future quick access.

These 2 are quite easily accessible from below. Remove the bottom trim, 2 wing nuts and some velcro on mine.
