Hi Guys

Please help if you can!

Can someone please advised where the negative/earth lead from the battery goes to!!

The black negative earth cable on my 4.5 leaves the Battery neg terminal and goes straight to the top of the rocker cover, it's held on by one of the rocker cover cap head bolts and is trapped between the top of the rocker cover and the triangluar bracket that holds the carbon fibre air box.

Don't think this is correct and think I have an earth drop because of it.

Without looking at mine I couldn't say. But a safe bet is to bolt it to the chassis.

Down to an earth mounting point beside the nearside front wheel lower wishbone pivot. All the Earths meet there.

Doesn't the first connection from the battery go to the engine first and then to the chassis?

If you could have a butchers then I'd apprieciate it very muchly.

Ridds is right - the earth from the battery definitely goes to a chassis bolt visible to the rear of the drivers side front wheel arch. A bit worrying someone attached yours to the engine, although in theory an earth is an earth is an earth.....

Straight to the engine will give better cranking power due to less resistance.

Off to the chassis then back to teh engine is a long reoute with joints that can corrode/fur up etc.

OK guys, ta for that.

I'm having problems on cold starting, always have, and think it can now only be this earth issue.

I'm gonna fit another earth from the battery direct to the chassis point, fingers crossed.
