Crank Sensor / starting

Guys
Im having problems starting and dont appear to have fuel or ignition then it will suddenly come good. (1 hour or 1 day later)
I suspect the crank sensor. has anyone changed one and do they have any tips?

check the wire connection into the sensor itself. Mine looked ok but the wire simply gave up and snapped one day when i was driving and the car just died. You might be as lucky.

on the bell housing? left or right hand? reached from above or below?

Hi I cant remember cos it was a couple of years ago and the car is at the garage being resprayed so I cant even look under it - sorry
