I've just been out checking the Oil (and topping it up!) when I compare my engine to the pictures of the one in the manual they don't seem to match especially as it says that you can see the side of the expansion tank to see the max mark (I cant see it )is it just mee being a numpty or do the LW models vary in the engine dept. any help would be great.

Also - the oil level was low (near the bottom mark) how much oil should I put in???

Cheers

Until it reaches MAX!!!

You can see the MAX line in the expansion tank from inside, i think its the seam aswell.

Max and the Seam on the Expansion tank are a lot higher than you might think--like as in an inch from the very top of the tank.

I spent about 20 minutes looking for the seam and the max level and only then realised it was right at the very top of the tank almost, where it flattens out.
Oil levelwise, pull out the Oil Dip stick and there are 2 marks, the second one is the max level

When mine reads half way between the marks about ½ litre tops her up........ so,
I would guess that the oil level marks are a difference of about 1 litre.
