Has anyone had a new windscreen recently? - I have been waiting a week and still no sign.

I am not sure if it is TVR or my windscreen fitter whois at fault, But all I can get is "it is on order!"

I had one fitted 6 months ago, took 24hrs.

Alistair,
I'm expecting mine in this week according to my local National windscreens, only heated available and coming direct from manufacturer in Finland.
The chap I'm dealing with mentioned National might be interested in supplying the screens in future and will be sending my old screen off as a template if it doesn't get too badly dammaged in the removal process(eek!).
Good news if it all comes together.

When I was re-doing my interior I was told that in order to do it properly the windscreen would have to come off and they ALL break/smash in the process. Put me off enough to elect the cheaper option.

Still waiting for a screen!!

I score the windsceen company 0 out 10 for keeping me infomed. I have rung every day and every day I am promised a call back. - which never comes. MOT is soon, so am starting to panic.

There's a guy on PH who owns a company that makes windscreens, his company made the screen in my V8S .. I'm sure he did others in the tvr range incl chim/griff but don't know if he does cerbies .. if he sees this thread he might pop in and let us know if he can supply .. sadly i can't remember his name

Well I decided to circumvent the windscreen company and called TVR direct. From the horses mouth so to speak " we are expecting some in from Finland, however current lead time is 3/4 weeks"

My MOT is in 1 week!

At least TVR told me straight, which is more than the windscreen company(who for posting rules sake) have to remain nameless have done.

Poor.

Afraid not David. Still getting the "it will be a month" response. My MOT runs out on Monday so it is off the road for me I am afraid.

This did worry me before, I can get lexan copies made of the side-windows but the front-screen is not as easy to copy, and the few companies I called up to get a price for a custom one were asking a hell of a lot of money and were requesting a minimum order of 5 too!!!

I got quoted 3k for original templating design work.
and then 550 per screen exclusive of vat

Jesus, it was 4 weeks 2 weeks ago!, I supposed they hadn't allowed for an unexpected headwind adding an extra 2 or may be gazillion weeks to the container ships ETA from the manufacturers in Finland.
Still who ever heard of a windscreen breaking? I expect like me you were foolishly using the vehicle beyond it's intended design parameters i.e. outside!
I might put a call in tomorrow to see if mine's turned up, or may be I'll build that perpetual motion machine that's causing the boffins so much trouble - it may be more fruitfull than yet another dissapointing "it'll be 4 weeks" phone call.
Anyway look on the bright side - it's not like a f@cked windscreen is an MOT failure - is it?
Okay, I'm gonna stop now before I'm consumed by my own sarcasm.
