Please can anyone help me?
I test drove a Cerbera 4.5 yesterday. I didn't want to do it. I pleaded with the sales chap not to let me.
"I like the Griff - can we have a drive?". "Yes, yes, that Chimaera 500 is just the sort of..."
1 hr later I was driving the Cerbera, and grinning like the village idiot.
Last night I actually dreamt about it. I can't stop thinking about it. I know it's wrong. I know it will most likely empty my bank account, but it's got a hold on me and I just can't shake loose.
I should be in bed, but no, I'm writing this in the hope that one of you guys (or gals) can help me in my predicament. How do I get it out of my head? Please say there's hope...

whatever you deceide to buy, you will always compare it against the Cerb, you will not find anying as good though for anything like the same money.
however rest assured that once you do own one, you will peer out the window at all hours grinning at it, touching it every time you walk past it..and constantly hear voices in yer head saying "F*****g Hell...I OWN a Cerbera"...OMG
unlucky, or not, you now know one of the secrets lurking in Pandora's box.

Have you bought it yet?? That, unfortunately, is the only cure available (save for a very powerful, mind blowing, memory reducing drug available only in person from one seedy coffee shop on a side street next to the canal in Amsterdam) for the rare medical condition which your sypmtoms suggest - Cerbitus!
private - you save money, you get the better cars etc....
If you buy from a dealer be sure to choose one who only sources the best cars. I have seen much evidence of tvr specialists who have knowingly/carelessly bought ropey cars. Everyone has their own opinion. I would expect you could pick up a 4.5 for £4k cheaper than a dealer. I ignore the benefits that a dealer brings re preparation and so forth. Get the car inspected by the likes of APM. Bank the £4k, take out an AA warranty for £52 pa. and away you go.

The art is not to fall in love without seeing the history first. You want it to run for a while until your first "minor requirement for assitance"

I agree with Gazzab, talk to an indy like Andy at APM first they all know the good ones for obvious reasons and do know of the ones that are coming up.

Me to, like others have said, look at lots of cars. I bought mine on the provenance of the car, followed closely by the sellers knowledge of Cerbs, and their upkeep. If you do your homework & are prepared to travel to view the cars, I'm sure you will find a great private car!
Yep, private buy was good for me and although I've had a few problems, they are nothing to go made about just wear and tear.
The cerb is awesome and the effect it has on people is amazing, park it somewhere on a bright sunny day and watch it from a distance....you'll soon see the pulling power and feel it later!!!
