I just been checking over my cerb,and ive just spoted somthing others should lookout for.

The front lower fibreglass cover that is a swine to get passed the water hose has chewed through one of my front aircon pipes (front of the engine) and started on the other rubber pipes there,i now know why the air con was't working.

Im going to change the hose myself as the system has completly degased itself and get regased at a garage.

Question do the nuts or thread at either end need any speacial sealer, or i they just tightened up like any normal nut.

What a pain, ours has a second pipe cut though & slipped over all the pipes where they pass sharp edges, other people on here have mentioned theirs have them too.

I don’t know about the ends, but I’d think may find you need more than just the pipe, if any muck has got in to the system & you run it up it could do a lot of damage. Ours had a collapsed pipe (from a pervious bad repair) & it cost a small fortune to have it put right.

Just wrap some PTFE tape around the male adaptors once cleaned up if req. and screw the hose assembly on. Don't use any sealers.

I smeared mine in vaseloine and it seems to be ok. i delibrately chose this cos it works on the swimming pool pumps pipes etc to provide an airtight seal but doesnt set

I noticed the same on mine, but luckily caught it early. I decided to wrap a piece of silicon hose around it with a tie wrap to hold it in place. If you look at the pic below you'll see the air-con hose in the bottom right hand corner of the pic, with the purple silicon hose in place.

nice spot. I dont have that problem as dont have air con!
