I have finally done the deed and become a TVR owner.
Just bought a lovely 4.2 Cerbera from Castle TVR. Ive been looking around for the past few weeks and tried a couple of 4.5's but this one felt amazing to drive and sounded gorgeous! The car has a great history and has had no major issues and has been well looked after so I hope she continues to be kind to me!
Should pick her up in 2 weeks and cannot wait. Hope to attend as many meets and events as possible so will hopefully get to meet everyone soon!

Well done Steve. Man after my own heart. If I get something in my head that I want to do or buy then I don't rest until its done. Nice to see that someone wants a 4.2 when they have more than enough to get a 4.5. Did you find it more responsive at lower revs or was it just the right spec for you?

its true what everyone else is saying. A Cerb gets under your skin unlike any other car, truly marvellous motors!
BTW what colour is your cerbie?
you'll have to post some pics of it up when you collect it!

I must admit, I was gonna go for a 4.5 regardless, but after trying both types I actually preffered the 4.2. May have been just because the few 4.5's I tried werent great examples but im really pleased with the deal I got and I love the colour (Skyline Blue Pearl & Portland Grey interior).
The car comes with a nice sports exhaust, so im gonna leave it as is for a few weeks and decide if I want to de-cat. Any advice on doing this would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the world of Cerbera ownership. Looking on Castles website the car looks nice and it already has a few extras, with the light conversion, spiders, etc. How much of the cars exposed edges are Armourfended and how invisible is it? Probably ok on blue but on black it seems to stand out more which is why I can't decide on taking the plunge.
The next 2 weeks will be Hell and no one only us Cerb owners will ever know how you will be feeling. You are about to face the longest 2 wks of your life, still with what awaits at the end of the tunnel, it really will be worth it.
Well done on your decision on prying yourself away from Porsche, at least for the time being anyway, believe me She won't disappoint.

The blended light conversion looked amazing and was a great bonus being only recently fitted by previous owner.
The armourfend actually looks fine, it seems to hide itself nicely against the blue paintwork.
I checked out your motor, love the colour! Do you get yourself out to many TVR meets/days? Im looking out for a couple of up & coming days which I can attend with the new chariot and meet everyone.

Congrats on the new Cerb, you'll love it.
Get yourself down to Santa Pod on April 8th, there will be plenty of fellow Cerb as well as other TVR owners there. You don't have to run your car on the drag strip, you can just come along and enjoy the spectacle, as well as chat to fellow enthusiasts.

i just want to add my congrats, the next purchase (if you haven't already got one) is a house with a double garage so you can just hang out and look at the new addition to your family.
you gonna love the reactions you'll get from people, from kids to adults they all love tvr's and especially Cerbs.
by the time you get it the salt should be gone and the sun will be back, excellent

Its the head-turning ability which is such a novelty for me. Mines not particularly great and in a love it or hate it colour. Just to give you an example, I guarentee that if you drive around parliament square, the tourists will turn around with their cameras and start taking pictures of you rather than Big Ben! It's really weird. Whenever I've seen people looking at a Porsche driving by, you usually hear or see them mouthing the word 'w4nker'. You won't get any of that anymore.
I must agree, many a time ive seen people have a pop at me when driving the porker around, simply because its a Porsche and thats the rep Porsche owners have built up!
Im looking forward to seeing people smile instead and get a few thumbs up rather than sturn glares and suggesting hand motions!

I bet with the porker, you never had people asking you to stop while they take a photo, and I'll bet youve never come back to the porker in a car park and there's a crowd of people stood around your car?
Thats what you've got to look forward to now, must admit, it takes a while to get used to

Currently in Hamble (Southampton) but due to move to Norwich in a couple of weeks. Car is not done yet but will hopefully be finished by in a week or so, have just been deciding on a colour etc. So looks like we will both end up on the road about the same time
