Ive not driven the cerb for nearly a week, and I went to start it today and the usual battery nearly flat, struggling to turn over, gave it a few attempts and.... the bloody alarm has now gone haywire

I took the lip off, disconnected the battery, waited, reconnected and its still going beserk. I repeated the above process but waited a few minutes, same again. This happened once in the past but disconnecting the battery solved the problem.

The indicators are flashing, I cant get them to stop. Ive pushed the imobliser key into the slot by the ashtry a dozen times (not really sure what Im supposed to do, but am trying everything) but nothing. The indicators are all still flashing and that small beeper is still going off.

Any suggestions? My battery is quickly going flat. Thanks in advance for any help...

Have you tried the 4 second reset on the fob?

The dealer told me when the alarm goes haywire it some times means it gone out of sequence with the arming/disarming mode so you end up with the alarm set with the car unlocked. This can usually be resolved by standing by the car and keep the button on the fob held down so the car goes through several arm/disarm locks unlock cycles until things are in sync again.

Good luck.

Agreed, get a new battery and then get an Accumate. It's the answer to many electrical woes.

When I discovered I needed a new battery I was in the middle of France...

New batteries can give up quickly sometimes due to a cell going down which shows up as not keeping charge for long. if this is the case, get your receipt and take it back to where you bought it from.

A week isnt tooo bad, for a cerbera. And the battery wasnt toooo dead, just a bit drained. Trying to turn over an ajp8 enough times will drain it further, i suspect after a charge it should be good to go again. The biggest problem is not being able to reset the alarm. The battery is pretty much completely dead now, as the indicators have been flashing and alarm (inside) beeping for hours on end

I spent a good few years thinking a week was good for a Cerb, but have now fitted one of those 072s with calcium & it's amazing, have left it up to three weeks & it still started first time in sub zero conditions. It’s great being able to just go & jump in it when ever I want & not have to worry if it will start or not.

No, I think you mean yellow top which is different & twice the price. I just got a normal style 072 one. I wanted a Varta but they had changed their design when I tried it so it didn't fit but they had Unipart 072, the newer calcium one, which fitted fine & as I said lasts ages & thats with out charging either
