Exhaust note left/right bank
Discussion
Hi,
Just been fiddling around with the car, balancing the airflow across the two banks etc. and seems to be ok.
However, at the back of the car, the 'even' bank exhaust pipe has a loud, steady drone coming out of it, but the 'odd' side sounds a bit more like its got a misfire, as there is a pause every few beats.
The car has done this since I can remember, so I don't think its a big deal, but has anyone else noticed this? The odd bank is the one with the throttle pot that fluctuates a bit, so I wonder if that has anything to do with it.
Answers on a post car....
PS I don't have linked de-cats, so each side is completely seperate.

Or a baffle gone?
Thats a possibility I guess, but I've two exhaust systems on the car, including new manifolds and it still does it. As I say, doesn't seem to be a problem, but I've replaced a number of things that I thought may have had some effect on it (not for their own sake, I was 'fixing' other things), such as leads, throttle pots, coil packs, injectors cleaned etc.
Given the age of the engine, it could be mechanical on that bank, but the airflows are prety even left/right.
Ah well, another mystery.
So I take it that others don't have this?
