Been looking at fitting a battery cut outt switch to the Cerb today, not sure about the best place, thinking about next to the washer bottle with a cable to the outside?

Anyone doe this already for sprints and hillclimbs

Any pictures would be a great help!

My cerbera had the (usual) problem of a battery going flat. I solved the problem with a Disconnect switch which is wired into the large negative cable from the battery, and mounted on the N/S inner wing. If you have a garage, you can disconnect it when you put the car away and simply turn the switch back on when you want to use it. Obviously you don't lock the bonnet in your garage. This prevents the battery losing charge and also you won't find you cannot get in the car. If you park outside, you can remove the red plastic key from the switch (Do not use the bypass circuit which will simply let the switch drain current). However anyone else could then lift the bonnet.
For sprints (which I do) the switch is on the wrong side on my car (to comply with the Blue Book) and not accessible once the bonnet is locked. You could use longer heavy earth cable and mount it on the offside but you would need to attach a removable extension to the switch so it could be operated with the bonnet closed. Personally I don't bother for sprints because the car has the off switch at the steering wheel which I label. That switch at least cuts off current for the fuel pump and ignition.

as far as I can see the 'large; red lead only connects to the starter.
the thinner leads goes rearwards under the header tank and connects to a large (100amp type) fuse under the L/H A pillar,
I would think this is the best connection to use for a cut out.
If the battery is going flat why not get an Accumate or any other battery conditioner?
other wise your alarm is not working

i did , years ago - works fine - negative lead extended to n/s left front corner by bonnett hinge - key just pokes out under rad scoop/inlet on the outside. still leave battery on charge when car not used for long periods though - with simple 13 amp plug in timer so gets charged every other day

I have looked at this but seem to have an oil cooler in the way, got any photos?

Just purchased a CTEK charger conditioner, but want to have a cut out switch for events.

Absolutely correct but that is your battery POSITIVE cable. The negative cable is black.
