Cerbera Ownership Hints & Tips
Discussion
Guys,
I was hoping to get some helpful hints and tips from you fellow Cerbera owners to help me (a new 4.2 owner in 6 days) when my new car arrives.
Im sure there are lots of do's and dont's out there, and finding out all of these before I get my new lady would be really helpful.
Anything you can think of which might help a new owner would be very much appreciated.
Thanks guys.
Steve

Steve,
Welcome to the cerby world!!
I'm sure there's lots of people on here who will be along with much better advice but mine would be:
- Take it easy when you get it - don't underestimate the power!
- Use your speedo when you get going - you won't believe its going that fast!
- Get an accumate if you're not using it every day.
- Get the know the secret way in when the battery is flat.
- Find out where each of the control units are on the petrol tank - when you get problems, these are the first places to look, disconnect and re-connect (you'll understand later!!).
- Get used to not moving your hands on the wheel - you won't find the buttons when you need them.
- Take care with the windows - the A pillar catching should the windows get out of sync with the door opening.
- Save more money for Optimax, tesco 99 RON etc...
But most of all - get out there and enjoy it!
Cheers
Rob

Keep an eye on the oil level - some tend to use a fair bit, while others don't
Have a slush fund for a new clutch - you are likely to need one at some point
Purchase some good car polish and wax and leather conditioner
Other than what has already been said, enjoy
PS - i cannot reiterate enought the need for an accumate battery charger

I would recommend an Accumate. It monitors the battery and tops it up when needed. Leave it plugged in all the time.
Dont forget to warm the fluids thoroughly before giving it Large Potatoes. Try not to go above 3000rpm from cold. Wait until everything is up to temp first.
And enjoy it

Why do Cerbera's have issues with the battery? What is it that runs the battery down when the cars not in use?
Thanks for advice re: Accumate.
Thanks
Steve,
Its not so much the clock, alarm etc... but the fact that they can get left for days and then you're trying to turn a 4+litre racing engine into life.
And whilst you may have enough juice to start it, if the starter takes all the available charge, it can trip the central locking system out (hence the earlier advice
) Accumate it is then!
Rob
Thanks for all this advice guys is very interesting for me as well (mine came with an accumate in the boot, so I better get that screwed together/plugged in to
it up
