Need old steering wheel button

Hi everyone,
I always keep an eye out on here for any more news on illuminated steering wheel switches, but alas there is no news
So was wondering if anyone has an old one sitting around thats not needed so i could try and match up in size and depth.
Would take out one of mine but sadly its a daily driver.

I'm very interested in this too, I have spent hours on the web tying to find an illuminated version with no luck. I the mean time could do with a replacement for my horn button which seem to suffer from a dry joint.
Have you took the button out & metered it, to come to that conclusion ?
Only there's very little to go wrong inside a "normally open " button.

No I havent meterd it but if it's pulled it out then then re-seatd it works for a while then fails again, in other words it works if you jiggle the wires about.

Would also love illuminated buttons but failing that the print is really worn on mine and and makes them look old, is anyone aware of small round stickers or similar with the symbols on that I could stick on in the meantime just to spruce them up? I am sure I have seen some once n a motorsport catalogue or similar that might work, tried demontweeks but can't seem to find anything.
Yeh, more likely to be those ultra thin wires they've used.
Ive took mine out, re soldered a better cable on to them & then reconnected to the old wire with a bit of heat shrink as protection.
The original wires have no slack in them at all & depending on the position of the steering wheel, the horn did or didn't work. Normally putting it in the full lock position would get it going.
It could be the button, but the wiring would be my favourite.

Have you seen what those buttons are mounted in ?
It looks like an old peice of cork that the factory have had lieing around, they've covered it with a bit of leather & cut some holes in it.
Nothing stopping you cutting your own cork, to any depth, holes to any diameter & sticking any illuminated push button it that you want.
Maplins have got loads, different colours etc. Getting the various symbols on might be difficult though.

Interesting you mention the cork backing.... Some of the switches i have seen are backlit brushed steel with the symbol, would be really cool, but behind the cylindrical switch they have a larger square block containing the contacts, maybe if i could get hold of an scrap steering wheel could take it apart and try and make the steel ones fit?

Hi, TVR have got replacment stickers in there parts manual,for the steering weel.Sorry cant say what numbers as my manual is at work.I got hold of one of these stickers from TVR Parts.
