Door Length

Hi

Can someone tell me how long the doors are on a Cerb?

(I've got an awkward garage and want to check I'll be able to get out!)

Where abouts are you perhaps if someone lived local they could pop round and see if a Cerb fits. Would only cost you a cup of tea.

Dont forget that you can:
Put carpet on the garage wall
you can push your seat right back , wind down the window and limbo out.
Others push the car in and out of the garage!

Cerb doors are 5ft long, yes 5ft.

My garage is 7ft 9" wide and I can get in and out no problem.

With the drivers door open wide enough to get in and out the width of the car is 93" (or about 7ft 9" door would need to be opened wider for someone over 11.5 stone) from passenger mirror outside edge to open edge of drivers door.

My garage walls are well protected by soft carpet underlay just in case.

I've already got the carpet on the wall for my Chim - window always open to help too - my problem is that I have to enter my garage at an angle (steering towards the passenger side) because my the side of my house is not in line with the garage! (drunken architect??)

Consequently the drivers door is probably a tad closer to the wall that it would be if I could park straight.

With a Chim its comfortable - but I'm well aware the Cerb doors are much longer - (5feet!!)

So my plan is to park up normally - then use a 5 foot strip to 'simulate' a Cerb door based on the front ends being virtually the same. Ive got a sneaky suspicion 5 foot isnt going to fit!!!!

Any local owners who want to drop by - more than welcome and much appreciated!! (East Sussex)

If it's a new House and Garage, all new single garages are built to a minimum standard width (building regulations) like mine, and it does fit, and you will be able to get out - just get the left side as close to the wall as you can

Where in East Sussex are you? If you go to the East Sussex TVRCC meetings, let me know and I'll drop by with the cerb on the way.

I'd be suprised if it wouldn't fit - I had three local guys come round to help before I bought mine and with a bit of careful driving, its remarkably easy!
