Brake pedal ....... Hissing, air sound!

New to Cerbera ownership and just wondering if this is normal!
When I brake I hear a hissing sound like air is being pushed out from somewhere by the foot pedal, I only noticed it yesterday as it's the first time ive had the windows up and it's been quiet enough to hear something like that!!

Thats the Servo working. You will find that if the engine is off the pedal will feel normal for a few pumps and then become firm. While you pump the pedal you get the hiss, but it will stop when the pedal goes firm.
Nothing to worry about.

Errm, is that right. Don't seem to get the noise in mine. I thought that servo just meant the large bit of the diaphragm was seeing the manifold vacuum. That should be almost instant with no need for the sound of escaping air, as very little air actually moves in the process.
I didnt hear the sound when I had the car, but I know there is a noise from the Servo when the engine is off, not just the Cerbera but any car.
I assume we are not talking about a very loud hiss. If the servo was leaking it would be a constant noise, and a loss of feel.

Well, I notice it when going along too! It's pretty quiet, will keep my eye/ear on it tonight! I havn't found any problem in braking!

I really dont remember anything but I have been around Jet Aircraft for a number of year, so I may be a bit
Mine does exactly the same. It's about the decibel level of a mouse fart but it's there every time at the start of the pedal movement and stops as pressure is brought to bear. Fernies thought the braking was good so I've been treating it as one of those things you just gotta love about ownership !

Well, didn't notice it as much yesterday, so will just put it down to "one of those things" like you say!
