Just happened to have a look under the bonnet this morning and noticed the rubber belt at the front of the engine (is it the timing belt, cam belt??) has perished - basically half of it has simply come away, leaving only half remaining on there, and it looks twisted too.
What part no. is this belt, and is it easy to put a new one on? Could the RAC do it for me or is it one of those classic Cerbera full engine out jobbies which only TVR garages can do?

Thats your aircon belt, dont worry 
I'd even say cut it off and pull it out. Its a simple job to put one in, I remember someone saying it can be done with engine in situ...????
The timing stuff is all chain driven, so too is the main pump stack. So you can still drive her! (but rip the belt off first, will make a mess if it rips off while driving)

Hi all,
anyone know where i can get a new air con belt from? Are they a TVR part or could i get one from any car spares shop? Just been informed by a TVr dealer that they have been on back order from TVR for a while now, so may be difficult to get hold of one from teh TVR network.

You are a star! have been ringing around all afternoon to no avail - apparently they are from an old Toyota Camry 2.2, but even toyota garages do not have them in stock
