Aluminium dash

I happened to take my dash pod apart this weekend while fitting some new bulbs, and noticed that the ali dash seems to be the cheapest, flimsiest, worst cut-out piece of tat that I've ever seen!

Has anyone else noticed this? Is this the standard quality or has someone done a dodgy replacement on mine?!

Didn't think they originally came with a allu dash. Has it been fitted after market?

I thought they were an option on later models...mine's a 2000 LW?

Didn't it? Could have sworn it did. Was it wood effect then?
