So, how quickly do your go off?

I've been out enjoying myself at Brands today, setting up the suspension and scrubbing in some tyres. I've been through nearly 3/4 of a tank of fuel so I've not been hanging around. However a couple of things manifested themselves, firstly odd braking at the end of the start finish straight before Paddock Hill, felt like warped disks but I'm pretty sure they're okay, so need closer investigation on that one, but also my tyres: I was scrubbing in some new falkens, and they we're going 'off' very quickly. I was out for approx 8 laps before they started to give up, there's a lot of marbelling to the tyres even now, after a run back down the motorway, So, my question is, is this the norm with the Falkens, my old Eagle F1s weren't this bad?

Tim, First brakes: pads are the key, I shredded the Mintex, liked the Ferodo 2500 and am trying EBC red stuff (if my ears can take them for long!).Pads on the Cerb seem OK until beyond half worn and then don't seem to disipate the heat, the net effect being they get hotter, the disc gets hotter and you get judder, this happens all the time on my one and goes once cool.The tyres I saw on your's looked new so they again have the same heat disipation issue and will heat up on the blocks rather than body.

I'm running EBC reds already, it was only the end of the start/finish straight that I experienced judder, but then I was throwing on the anchors on at about 110. I have had positive experience of grooved disks on my 300zx so, I'm playing with that as an idea.

You're right my tyres we brand new when I saw you the other weekend. Now they look like yours at Lydden Plenty of meat left on them but a bit of drifing throught Druids, Graham Hill and Clearways has taken it's toll

Hi Tim, I dont bother using my brakes, as I tend to find the gravel around there stops you quite well

You would have loved yesterday Mark, loads of track time, fantastic weather and no idiots out at all. And some serious 'toys' eveything from a race 360 to Radicals and Skylines.

I think I might pass on your solution to my braking problems, but thanks all the same.

No, not this time, too busy having fun .

But there was a guy selling shots there so have shot him an email to see if he got any good ones.

It was a bit mad as the afternoon went off as the ricers in their 200sx's turned up. Real shame tbh, as from 3 onwards the pits was manic with way too many cars, made it difficult to get out onto the pit lane through the garages. I passed on the last 50 mins as I was knackered and the tyres were absolutely shot, oh and the starter had overheated so started to click rather than spin. :-S Gota love the Cerb' haven't you.
