Headlight box connector - where from?

I'm in the process of sorting out my cerb's headlights once and for all. The connector to the headlight control box on the take is severly burnt, so I have to replace it. Does anyone know what connectors that TVR use so I can acquire one from farnell or similar?

Would be usefull to know as mine has the same problem.

Hard wired at the moment but it's not the most attractive or safe solution.

I fitted relays switched via the headlight wiring over the weekend. Hopefully a more permanent solution.

Just done the same, very effective. I also bought some Phillips vision plus to add to the effect, can recommend them.

Cant help with the connector though sorry

I'm planning on doing this with mine, but one thing puzzles me: On my car - which has the new style lights - the dip light comes on with the side light but dimmer. It come on brighter when headlights are switched on, then when main beam is selected it does off and the main beam lamp comes on.

If anyone else has done this mod with a car with new style lights, how did you get over the issue of the dip beam coming on dimly with the sides?

There is a 6 volt supply to the dipped beam whilst sidelights are on, it is also regulated which is OK, but TVR decided at half load (ie 6 Volts) it would be switched too - it will cause problems (relay chatter) with your relays if your not aware of it (if you have had the conversion this must have been overcome in some way). To solve there is a nice and simple solution, look for the dip / dim control box above your fuel tank, on my Cerby this wasn't labelled, and also didnt have a multiblock connector but single spade connectors. Disconnect the black / red wire....thats your regulated 6 Volt supply.

As you appear to be conversant on this issue, can you explain what the dim/dip control box and the lights control box actually do, in detail? I'm an electronics engineer so I will understand however complicated you want to make it.

I'd like to do a little mod to the way the lights work, and in the absence of a circuit diagram I'll have to work it out, but any advance knowledge would be useful!

I had a hunch it was 10v rather than 6v on dip beam without the engine running.

Andy, glad to help with the above, and i know it works cause i have done the relay mod, but i'm afraid i have reached the extent of my knowledge! I only know about the regulated supply through talking to others...
