Cooling fans not working - ideas?

So far I have checked connections near the fans. Removed and checked fuse. Taken front cover of and disconnected the temp sensor. I had read in a search that once this is removed the fans should start. They didnt. Anything else im missing??? Im thinking the actual fans might be knackered - but both not working?

Any ideas / experience!

These temp sensors are ntoriously unreliable. I wonder if this might be your problem? Apparently their reading can be looked up on the diagnostics via laptop.

I am going to replace the temp sensor i think. Hopefully this will sort.

When you disconnect the plug on the temp sensor, the ECU switches both fans on, and illuminates the MIL light.

If neither are working, have a look at the fan connectors under the radiator, prime spot for moisture to collect, and corrode the terminals.

Sorted! - nice one - it was the connectors near the fans at fault. Now for rolling road....

Crazycats just take for instance you're in a traffic jam, say Le mans sweating it out very hot, to keep car cool can you just pull this off as a quick fix, or is it advisable not too?

Yep as a quick fix, don't see a problem, however I wouldn't want to leave it too long....probably better to wire in a manual switch somewhere.

Joo does a modded chip which cycles one fan in at much lower temps, roughly themostat opening temps IIRC. That's probably the way forward. Never understood why the fan operating temps are so high, and so close together.

yeah I do it so they come on just above thermostat temp and cycle much more frequently .. stops the big temp swings we're used to seeing, plus keeps air moving through the engine bay to stop massive heat build up in there destroying your electrical components.
