Cerbera Track Tyres???

I recently bought a second set of Cerbera 16” wheels - anyone got thoughts on the best track tyres to go for, thinking of slicks or treaded track tyres.

For the road Pat is fitted with Bridgetone S02’s on the front and Toyo’s on the rear!

I have 2 sets of TOYO R888's semi slicks but road legal. I use them mostly for sprinting and drive to and hopefully from every event. Last year I did 4000 miles on the road on a set and they are fine except in deep standing water. They have so much dry grip that even in 1st the traction is superb from about 3000rpm onwards whereas standard road tyres just spin up.

I was at snetterton today and other than breaking the exhaust headers and sending the car home on a lorry it went like the clappers with huge levels of grip improving as the tyres warmed up. They didn't overheat and belive me I really tried.

I have both 16 and 17 inch wheels with R888's on them. The 17's I keep for sprinting. The 16's are still very good (and are in a different league from road tyres- I guess better by 4 seconds a lap at Snetterton)but you will only be able to have 225 45 16's all round cos toyo dont make a 16 inch R888 in 245 width.-not that youd want it cos the side wall flex would be too great anyway.

Kuhmo also do a B list tyre but it is very very soft and I have not tried it.

Thanks for that a lot of people have reccomended the Toyos, has anyone tried Michelin Pilot sport cups?

Dunlop Formula R are good tyres for track days etc, much better than Kumho IMHO. The Yoko offerings are also pretty good but personally I'd go with the R's.
