Oil Pressure Relief Spring?

Where would I find it on a 4.5?

It's encased in a large threaded cap.

You get to it from under the car and if my memory is correct its on the right side (driverside) of the engine.

Get the car on a lift and stand under the engine looking towards the same way as the head lights, look up on the driverside of the engine and you'll see a large hex head, unscrew and you'll find it in there.

If you do a forum search then you'll find photos showing exactly where it is on a previous thread!

Thanks Si, I've been looking on the wrong side, assumed it would be near the oil filter. Couldn't find any pics but I'll have another look now but your decription should be enough.

When changing this spring, should one expect oil to escape when the nut is undone? Just wondering if it a quick job, or if oil has to be drained first.

Nope, shouldn't need to drain the oil.
