Well this was an experience!
Took my 4.2 down to the track for my first time, (first time in a Cerb not a TVR). So i had planned to take it slow and not spin off as per usual
The fun starts: On my cool down lap smoke started to pour into the cabin from the gear stick! yes the gear stick... then i pulled into the paddock and watched the smoke bale out of the bonnet
opened the bonnet to find that some oil had been blown out that breather pipe and was dripping out of the air intake onto the manifold? anyone else seen this? causes loads of smoke when it burns of the exhaust. So after i and a few other TVR members poked about for a while we decided it was ok to go out again
Second time out, no probs went well the whole time.
Third time out i took the RO of the club out, trying to impress him into getting a cerb from his current Chim
All went well for about five laps then the car blew smoke out the exhaust and the throttle got stuck on the floor! after completly SH*****G myself for a microsecond i stamped on the thottle which released it! (BTW for those of you who discuss limiters or NO limiters, There def is on mine)
Slowly drove back into the paddock and the car looks and sounds fine, very scary moments for a first time track in a cerbie.
Some of the more clever people around noticed that the breather was very badly kinked which should resolve that problem, but WHAT ABOUT THE THROTTLE, anyone been in this position has to know how bloody scary it is! image that in 2nd on a B class road?
Can just see me saying the famous "sorry sir they all do that" after creaming half the country.
Ideas and other experiences very welcome.

My throttle got stuck fully open too, about a week after I collected it. Luckily I was on a fairly empty stretch of A road. The problem with mine was the pedal had simply got caught under the edge of the overmat. Needless to say, the drivers mat has taken up permanent residence in the boot.
Hope yours is as simple to sort.

when it all was happening i dont actually know if this was the cause. BCA said:

Not sure how common this is but i know if it happens me again its Neutral & RED button time! for sure, just be prepared for it is my advise,
But seriously, it cant be that common, and i dont care, the cars worth it
Chris had the 'throttle stuck open' problem in our cerb a few months back whilst coming down the A45 - was due to the way some new leads had been routed - ended up getting wedged under throttle cable. Not sure that's a very good description ... here's a photo which may explain it better

On the 4.2 if you replace the airbox mushroom head screws (near side at the back) with a cap head the ball link of the throttle arm could get stuck agaiinst the cap head. I replaced all the others with cap heads but have a mushroom head srcrew in that last one.
Interesting Mike! i did check this last night and the last bolt was half open! when i checked the placement of the throttle in its fully open position it snagged on the bolt
80% sure this was it! Thanks for all your inputs
