On the way to Cerbs in the City this morning, accelerating to about 65 on the AIM sliproad, felt a slight juddering from the rear end, then, before i could slow down all hell broke loose
and i found myself facing the wrong way up the motorway slip. Lucky it was early this morning and the road was empty. Got the car to the hard shoulder and rear tyre looked a bit flat, checked and it was only 10psi. I checked pressures yesterday and all was ok.
Got the car home so ill have the wheel checked over during the week. Ive had a blow out at a higher speed than that before,(not in a cerb} but this morning ill admit, s
t the life out of me, had the car over 2 years now and thats the first time its caught me out.
Anyone else had the car react like that to a puncture

Glad you and the car came through it OK! Never actually had a blow out myself although I've seen one on a car ahead of me. I'm surprised you didn't hear the tyre letting go or do you think the puncture actually occurred beforehand (i.e. earlier today perhaps after you'd checked pressures) and only manifested itself when I assume you gave it some beanz accelerating?keithyboy said:
