Brake Discs

about to replace my front pads. I know I should check the discs. Apart from obvious damage / wear, is there a minimum thickness or anything else I should look out for?

There will be a minimum thickness, but I dont know what it is, and I would think it would take a lot of miles and hard breaking to wear the discs to the minimum.
Put your new pads on, go and drive it, and if you feel any judder through the brake pedal, then this will indicate that the discs need replacing.
