Got car at last! Woooppeeeee!

Well its been 6 weeks since i put my dippa on the Cerb from Harrogate (silver one at Horseless carriages with the oil leak!)- i got the car 2 days ago and I can only describe the car as phenominal! The power, the noise, oh my god!! Only stopped driving her for work and sleeps!.....However, the break squeal is pretty loud - apparently the car had new pads on the rear at the inspection so i assume thats the reason? Also, i can hear what sounds like a springy rattle (coming from the front passenger side suspension maybe??) - the car has a full months warranty so if its a big problem ill be taking it back. Any ideas? The only sound that comes close to what im hearing is bending a ruler on the edge of a table and letting it go..... if u know what i mean.

New pads mean awful squeal. It'll pass. Not sure how long they take to bed in properly though.

check the car is level and that it doesnt have a broken spring.

the best advice I can give would be to ask a different tvr specialist to cast an eye over the cerb asap to give it a full check over. this will flag any issues missed by the supplying dealer

Very good advice, take it! It'll bring faults which could cost hundreds or thousands to light, its your car now so its in your own best interest to find out whist warrantied if you can bear to pull over long enough to let someone check.

Buzzin for you mate, the cerb is a fantastic machine, some good advice here about getting someone else to give it a once over, I use Ian in middlewich a top guy and really does know his TVR stuff give him a bell 01606831244. we'll have to meet up in the next few weeks and you can show me your new toy.

in fact getting it checked over quickly means its not a warranty claim but for the supplying dealer to remedy on a recently supplied car...this is more powerful than a warranty claim 6 months down the line.


Perhaps I am becoming cynical but I always felt dealers would prep cars to 100% perfect condition, I have a nagging suspicion based on some more recent experiences however which suggest that profit margins are paramount and certain items are perhaps thought of as the first service warranty claim

Its odd how both my cerbs needed dampers after 6 months and one developed an oil leak from the rear diff so quickly....
