Head Torque

Engine nearly built back together,

But how do you torque the head's down,

Ive managed to get hold of the AJP Build manual (Good Book worth every penny PLUG PLUG),

But you can not get a Socket and torque wrench on nearly all the head bolt's so come on guy's want do you use.

Hi mate,

You need to use a Torque handle - not a torque wrench. These things are flat and use a fir-tree root end to accept different ends, just like the end of a spanner. I will be doing the same when I get my engine back too, and I'm looking at buying a Norbar Torque handle (serial 100TH) with the appropriate 15mm and 12mm ends (you can get open, ring or flare ends, each have different torque capacities - I reckon we'll need the ring ends for the head bolts).
