New windscreen Green strip

Just off the phone to National windescreens....looks like the screens available are the ones with the green 'sunvisor strip'...and this is all that TVR are going to be supplying for "aftermarket" use.
The upside is that they can be obtained very quickly...no real waiting time!
Downside for me....Chaucer Insurance are not an insurance company that National windscreens deal with...so, it means I have to try and get Chaucer to change their minds/allow me to use NW, or pay myself and claim it back! .....oh blast...TVR ownership is never easy!

Yep just come off the phone myself the original clear screen part no U1127 has been replaced with the top tint unit U2375(from 2000), the only way around it is to have a heated screen fitted but that is double the price and you have the tiny elements which can effect screen mounted sat Nav and Road Angels etc.
I was with Chaucer recently and they tend to use RAC for screen replacements, I have booked mine in for Monday for the top tint screen option so at least I will be ready for Le Mans and have a better view of Mrmop

I had a screen fitted by National (Basildon) last month after a 6 week wait for delivery. No green strip but it was a heated one though, but still only cost me the £60 excess (Cornhill through Mannings). They got my old unheated screen out undamaged and said they had alreay sent it away as a template for their own manufacture so may be worth a call.
When I ordered the screen originally they told me that TVR's supplier in Finland only had 5 screens left all of which were heated so no other choice at the time.
Don't really notice the heating elements and my GPS works fine through it but personaly would'nt have been keen on a green top tint but still wouldn't have said no if it was the only option though.

We've got a top tint on ours, but because the car is green, I think it looks quite good !

Edited to add that it's small enough that it hides behing the sun visors/front roll bar hoop

Phoned chaucer and they would only put me in touch with RAC windscreens. RAC windscreens informed me that they wouldnt touch TVRs as none one had enough knowledge/confidence at the depot to undertake the replacement.
Back on the phone to Chaucer who asked me to get a written quote from National windscreens, who obliged without a problem....faxed to Chaucer and awaiting reply!
Davidn.....Lee from National windscreens told me about their people had your old screen as a template...but no news on whether it would be possible to manufacture their own or not...
Green-striped-screens available within 10 days, but no plain ones left!
