playing up with normal un-leaded

Hi, i had to put some normal unleaded in the beast as no garages on my way home from a meeting had super unleaded. only put about £10 worth in. In short the car is running like a complete dog. I have since filled her up with some optimax.

Just hoping it is because of putting in the normal unleaded.

This car has been sweet as a nut for over 14 months now, so surely this must have something to do with it.

Just very lumpy and mis fir'ing.

Had to change a lamber sensor once, defo not a lamber sensor.

How low did the level get?

one the last line so very low! never done that before! had loads in the tank, struggled to find client! and before i know it nothing left, with no petrol stations!

Doubt it's the petrol - more likely some rubbish in the bottom of the tank...

Maybe change your fuel filter, if you need one I have one you can have for nothing.

just been changed only serviced last week!! cheers though mate! hopefully on the way home tonight will be ok.

I saw a post here a few months ago where one of the respected contributors suggested that your car's ECU will actually "learn" the characteristics of the fuel you use. When you change from one type to another it was suggested it takes a tank or two for the ECU to adjust.

About two weeks ago i had the same but it was a tank full of Optimax that was the problem, i have always used it but that tank was the pits, i put some injection cleaner in, a tanks worth and it runs like a dream again, it took a couple of tanks though before all was ok.

Anyone using 99 ron from Tesco, and if so, is it anygood?

Used Tesco's 99 ron for the first time this week,and unbelievably the car felt much more responsive !!
And the noise !! It pops and bangs a LOT more and seems a lot louder.Just cant wait to fill it up again.
Defo be using it from now on.

My cerbie loves the 99, i prefer over the optimax, when driving around town i throw in the old 95, press my octane switch, no probs. love it!
