Not sure what colour/temp to go for - I like the idea of a colour that matches the car colour!
If we want to go for a group buy then I could negotiate a bigger discount ie up to 50% (but I doubt we would get that many interested peeps).

I think the colour is irrelevant to the power consumption. They usually draw about 25W, which is far less than the existing 55W/60W bulbs.
I'm considering them -- would probably go for the 6000K which I believe is the colour temperature of most OEM HIDs. Much higher than that and I reckon it'll be a bit Max Power.
Colour temperature is the temperature at which a black body (perfect radiator) would emit light of that frequency. Daylight is about 6000K, and I think indoor tungsten lights are somewhere around 2800K.

I'm pretty sure that the dip beam needs to be self levelling - thats what Hella said to me when I last looked into it. It's probably less of an issue on a Cerb but might be worth checking. On a related note I found PIAA do E-marked Halogen bulbs all the way up to 180/135W although you'd obviously need to uprate the wiring to cope.

I've recently put the track car solutions HID lights on mine.
I haven't got the box anymore, but I'm sure they are rated at 8000K.
They are very bright, even on the cerb I have asked for the beam to be lowered as it is very bright when coming up to things, and the missus said driving behind her was blinding before they were lowered slightly. Note the headlights were aligned after fitting and checked, they are now at the lowest setting possible.
I think you can illuminate the blue motorway signs from about a mile away, so it gives you an indication of the brightness.
As for road driving on unlit national speed limit roads, the difference is phenomenal you can really see the road lit up nicely - very clean crisp light, mine just seem to be crystal white.I understand from talking to Joolz that they use much lower reduce current than the normal headlights, so there should be no danger of frying wiring etc.
On the whole I'd recommend them, just be prepared for the complete difference in light output.
