Adjusting door now

Well after sorting my windows out, now its time to sort out my driver's door.

It seems to have dropped a little, so that the rear end of the door is too low.

How is best to remedy this please?

Tis tricky I think. You need to slacken the allen bolts at the bottom, the undo the nut on top of the top hinge and then move the nut under top hinge down. The retighten all and check.

If its just low at the rear edge isn' it better to slacken the allen bolts that hold the hinges making sure they are still tight enough to hold the door's weight. Then apply a bit of upward leverage at the rear lower edge of the door to move the hinge plates slightly until the fit is OK.

Haven't tried it myself but it was the method Joo recommended when I asked him about it.

Ahhh didnn't realise the lower plates moved independantly. In that case yep, adjust the horizontal rake on those. Use the upper mount if it's really out of true.

Mine hasn't got allen bolts holding the hinge to the body, its got threads sticking out with M8 or 10 nuts on. And they are spot welded.

Well, one is, I can't see the other one as its in the door closure.

The upper hinge is welded the lower one shouldn't be. Smae year as mine so it should be similar.

Open the door and get on your hands and knees.
