hey everyone

as we all know cerbs like to drink the oil, specially early ones like mine!

so does anyone know where i can get mobil motorsport 15 50w for less than £45 notes that halfrauds charge!

Weird! I buy mine through halfords in Winchester for £29! Or if they've ran out Halfords in Eastleigh for £35. Just bought some last month at that price?!?!

I have just been told this by someone else?! I was more than a bit surprised, considering its only a tenner for 5 litres?! I was struggling to believe i had heard right, but you have just confirmed it?!

Is it not used & refined Oil? I am not saying it is, just not sure it isnt.

I use it in my Ford Fester TDI...

It was suggested that Mobil 1 0 40 is far too thin and full of not-very-nice-additives.

Contact Simon or Guy through the link above and they will be able to point you in the direction of a good quality oil at a very good price. They offer advice on most Car Forums and have a thread running in the TVR General section. I have been using an oil supllied by them for a few years, it is Silkolene Pro S 10w/50, this is an ester based synthetic making it slightly superior to Mobil 1 (which is still an excellent oil). They also sell Mobil 1 and Motul among others. Another brand worth recommending is Miller Oils. I have been fortunate to get my hands on some Mobil Motorsport 15w/50 for free, so I'll be sticking that in at the next oil change next month, being a 15w viscosity as opposed to a 5 or 10 should be fine in our current warm climate. However, I would always go for an oil weighted a little higher than 40 for when the engine is at running temperature, as in our current very warm climate the engine can get very hot.

As far as I remember, it recommends TVR's on the can. I also was originally supplied with some from Jools at trackcar. If he says its ok, then who am I to argue.

sorry, careless post. I was tired and confused! its costs a tenner for the Carlube semi-synth i use in the Fester, Triple R fully synthetic 5w-40 Carlube is £20 +VAT at my local motor factors. I also spotted the TVR approval brochure there too...

Damn sight better value than Mobil 1 @£40 for 5 litres if its as good as everyone is telling me...
