Could this be a stock of clutches....

Not wanting to tempt fate and have them all disappear before i can order one, but TVR Carparts seem to have them on their website ready to go...

now i wonder if i can get my dealer to buy it here...or let me buy it for them.

Don't want to be negative, but they were the first place I tried, they had clutches on their web site a few weeks ago, but if you phone them tomorrow you will probably find its still the same old story!

Only got one used/reconditioned clutch left, Im waiting on being told how many miles have gone on it, not many at all I think.

Call AP Direct as they sell to anyone! They wont sell you the TVR spec'd one but they will however sell you a slightly different one for a few quid less than TVR! And its better torque holding.

The correct clutch, unless I am mistaken is part no. CP5282-34GRY, which is a one fits all clutch for all AJP8 and Speed 6 engined TVRs.
Spec is 215mm / 8.5" diameter twin plate organic, the gearbox input shaft is 1" x 23 spline.

So what is the part number and spec. of the "slightly different" one you mention, is that what you fitted in your Cerb?

This is the whole point, there could be many alternatives out there but nobody seems to really know which would actually do the job!!!

Well that spline is standard Ford Type9/T5, and the plate size isn't massive, surely there's got to be something along the lines of a Cosworth clutch or clutch plate that can be used?

Give them a call (02476639595) as I dont know what the part number is. I got one sent over when I was replacing mine as I bought a standard one then decided to go for one that will hold better power. Their Tech people spec'd it up and sent me one out for around £350 + VAT

As long as they dont use the TVR designed parts they can supply you the kit. They will do any sort of plates you want so if you want something a bit special they'll do it and not alot more money either.

A definitve yes / no would be nice?! When contacting AP Probably be best coming from someone replacing clutch (so as not to waste their time), but if no-ones in that position i will see if i can get some info...

Aparently the clutches are due to ship to dealers this week....following the announcement and other puff about factory and ocmpany future etc.

At least that's what my dealer told me..

I am confused (it doesnt take much). Do you mean the standard clutches are being shipped?

I should have phrased my original question better, i was wondering if the 'alternative' from AP had been followed up to see whether its a definite yes it can be used...and more importantly whether its any better?
