How to find paint mixing codes?

Hi all, my '99 Cerb is described as 'crystal verde' and has a body code of 'TVR028' or it could be 'TVR025', the engraving isn't good.

How can I find out exactly what that means, so I can get some paint matched? Some of the lacquer is peeling on the front, from stone chips, and I want to get it fixed.

The 'Body code' will denote that the paint mix is either an ICI or a TVR factory mix.
The TVR factory mix will more than likely be very slightly different in shade to that of a Manufaturers/ICI mix, so it is quite important to find out! Also the factory mix is more expensive...(now there's a suprise! ) Mines Ford Imperial Blue, but its a factory mix...found this out when I had headlight conversion done!...so cost more!

If you go to a decent bodyshop, then they should be able to tell you one way or the other.

Isn`t there a code number in your handbook? I got some mixed at Halfrauds- bout £8.

The paint code is on the plate under the bonnet on the passenger side...and is denoted by the "Body code".
As I mentioned in my earlier post....quite a lot of paints used are the ICI type...(which can be mixed at a paintshop or somewhere like Halfords)...but some paints are TVR factory mixed and will vary in shade to the ICI type paint. If unsure ask!
