Im looking at getting my first cerb. I have around 15k so looking at a 97-98 i guess and 4.2. Just a bit put off with the whole break down thing, but have been trawling through the posts and think its worth it! Just im terrible at getting the first car i see. Saw this blue one and like the fact its had most major work done on it and the miles are reasonable, rather than a low miles one that might not have has all the niggles come out of it.
anyway any advice on the car if its know or if the garage are know on here would be great.

I can highly recommend Offord.
Got my '98 Cerbera 4.5 from there three weeks ago and was very impressed with the level of service. Only had mine three days before it had to return to the garage to have a faulty sender on the fans replaced. Simon and his team had it picked up on a low loader and delivered back to my house the same evening.
Slightly off topic, took my P&J out for a short spin last night on the old A1 near my house and hit 130mph for the first time :-0 Naughty but nice.

If you check out the Offord site ( www.offord.com/tvr.asp?p=1 ) , there is a nice Purple Cerb with nitron suspension and carbon air intakes as well :-)
I know that it doesn't make much difference when you're driving but try to get one with the full hide option like mine. It really makes the interior look better.

I've used them for over 3yrs now,just coming up 2yrs with Cerb and before that with Chim and they've always been great, even sorted out a running problem i had on my old Chim after a main dealer had it for almost 3 weeks with no joy.
As the guys say above, talk to Simon or Bill or even Ben as he's the one who mainly works on the Cerbs.

thanks for all the advice, i was happy with the friendlyness and knowledge when i went there too. Nice to know that i would be fairly ok in the scheeme of buying a cerb and the chances of it being a good one if i go with offord. I looked at the purple one while i was there, like the colour and alloys, just the interior looks a bit more tired and has the extra mile on it. the blue one has nitrons too and a decent wad of history like the purple one. They are actually using it as a show car in a couple of weeks so the blue one cannot be too bad im thinking. Im still tempted with a private red one for sale on here right now as the money saved would cover any repairs and servicing for the year im likely to keep it for. The other thing is pay a bit more for a tuscan with rebuild already done and go that route. too many choices for me, and too many pitfalls if i rush in. Any more advice greatly appreciated.
My first Cerb was Halcyon Atlantis and it's a lovely colour, but tends to look a little green in the winter. You only get the full on blue in bright sunshine and it's a bugger to take a good photo of.
May I suggest a Red Cerb, cough cough! It comes in under budget and has private plates!

Based on the work you've had done to it and the fact you've got work done ASAP without scrimping I'd be iclined to take a very serious look at that Cerb.
The great thing about a PHer selling is that in a lot of cases you get to look at their profile and the cars history before even viewing.
This one sounds like it was a very well maintained and cared for example which is a must with these cars...
That plus the fact that Offords are a great bunch of guys and should see you right if it does develop any problems means it'd be high on my list.
