For about £48 per annum to existing members, the AA are providing cover for mechanical / electrical breakdown to the value of £500 per claim. Maximum of 3 claims a year subject to £25 excess. Applies to cars under 10 years old. See www.theAA.com.

Sounds too good to be true as it seems a lot cheaper than TVR warranties (although I accept that TVR warranties are with no monetary restrictions).

I have a colleague who has his Speed 6 covered, and the AA have honoured 1 claim this year. Value about £300.

Does anyone else have any experience with the AA?

I've taken cover, fantastic, and they will ferry your car to the nearest TVR dealer as well!

Totally surprised by the offer but hope I don't have to use it.

cheers

Shame RAC don't do this too! Sounds like a great deal.

[RAC do offer a deal on ChipsAway but I haven't heard any very positive views on this. Having noticed a couple of rear bumper blemishes and a few stone chips in my Starmist blue while washing the car at the weekend I thought I might give them a try]

This has to be too good to be true for £48.
I have just renewed my Warranty Holdings (limited £1000 per claim) cover. I think it was about £375 PA. My only concern with the AA cover would be whether or not a £500 limit is workable given the cost of 'big bang' claims.

I have not renewed by WHA (£1000 limit) policy.
I have taken out this one with the AA. £24 for 6 months. I could hear the AA guy thinking 'not another TVR, what are we doing'.
At least it is so cheap that I dont care too much if they dont pay out !!! With WHA it really annoyed me that they were less than helpful at times.
