every now and then keep having to pull the red handle to get out the car, as the button won't work. I assume it's nothing to do with the alarm etc... as I had it checked by Carl at CBI and the alarm has a clean bill of health. Is it a case of replacing a control box?

I don't have this problem at all, but the wife suffers from being locked in. It's because she doesn't shut the drivers door properly and drives off. When she comes to a stop, the doors won't open from the interior button and she gets in a right fluster and blames the car. No dear, you haven't shut your door properly and you've confused it. She either uses the red handle or the exterior button and escapes that way, but she has been known to have crawled out through an open window.

When you are locked in, does the exterior button still work? I would say check the small proximity switches on the door are correctly set.

it's most likely to be corroded connections on the interior buttom in my experience.

Easy enough to take the door card off and replace.

Haven't tried the exterior button, will give it go next time.

How easy is it to check the proximity switches?
