where to buy a wiper motor

I fitted a Mini one to my car, with a different gearbox. The motor came from my old MKIII Mini, but I suspect at some point it had been uprated. If I were you I would look into getting your old one overhauled, shouldnt be too expensive.
Firstly the Wipers are crap on a dry screen anyway, they need the rain to work properly.
ANyway I fell for the "Its the same as the old mini" one, So I bought a brand new 'Old Mini' one. The description a a wiper 'Motor' is misleading. It comes in 2 parts, part A is a bog standard conventional electric motor, with copper coily things and magnets and wires, and that is is bolted to Part B, a casting that contains the gear cog and arm that drives the wiper spindle - which is basically little more than a long peice of cable with a coarse thread on it. So while Part A may be the same Electric Motor as an old Mini, Part B most definitely is NOT. And PartB from your current motor, will not fit onto Part A of the new Motor.
Heres a tip to help the Wipers, its not just the Cog in the motor that needs greasing, the spindle cables do.
Go to Asda and buy some cheap little palstic funnels, and some plasticine or blu-tack.
1. Remove the wiper arms, loosen off the big nut.
2. Select a funnel that fits over the protruding Wiper 'thingy' (that the Wipersarms bolt onto).
3. Fix it in place with blu-tack/plasticine.
4. Fill the funnel with a light engine oil
5. leave at least overnight, waking up every hour to operate the
wipers for about 20 seconds.
The Oil will gradually seep into the tuBes that contain the wiper cables and lubricate them
If this fails try a breaker Like Belhill Garage. (Do a Google for BelL hill TVR)
