Mate has just bought a 911

As the header says. its a 2000 with 50K miles. he needed a lift to pick it up so I offered. By the time we got there he couldn't get over the noise / acceleration of the cerb even though he has been in the car before. We headed back to my house for dinner before going out for a spin. When we got there he said 'I hate traveling behind you cos I couldn't hear my car' I took it out for a spin this evening and was suprised at how sluggish it felt. It did get up to high speeds but it seemed very continuous oppossed to the violent acceleration of my cerb.

It put me off ever wanting to on one (Unless heavily breathed on)

I have a mate is a saleman for Porsche in the south, who just drawls over
my Cerb..his discription is silk stockings against torn fish nets..which one do you want to tame ??

When we bought the Cerb, the other cars on the possible list were an Esprit S4, and a limited edition C4S (964 - so last of the verticle lights 911's).

I couldn't get comfy in the Epsrit, so that ruled it out.
Drove the Cerb & fell in love.
Drove the 911 & it felt as fast as a a beetle after the Cerb ! Was a complete disappointment. The only way I'd touch a 911 now will be if it has a couple of turbos in the boot !
Drove the Cerb again & it was decided.....

Ive driven a lot of Porsches, and a 911 is like an Audi.... it no fun at all and not an `event` to drive.
911 Turbo is a bit more of an event--- but still not quite like a Cerb.

I would buy a 911 if i wanted somthing a bit more toned down as a work car during the week, but would still have to have somthing loud for the weekend.
